Our Busy Weekend....................

We started off by going out for a Japanese Hibachi dinner to celebrate mine and Uncle Tim's upcoming birthdays. Of course the evening wouldn't be complete without the wearing of the birthday wigs! Then it was off to Ryan's cub scout pack night, where he received a trophy for his pinewood derby win, and then acted out his part in a sketch where his line was "When I grow up, I want to be a comedian because I love to make people laugh!" :) Here he is warming up! LOL Then last night, we participated in Earth Hour http://http://www.earthhour.org/about/ It was so cool! First we ate dinner by candlelight (albeit alot of candles since the kids were unsure of the darkness at first) Then it was on to the entertainment! Mommy sat down at the piano (for the first time in many, MANY years) and the kids danced along to my awful playing!

After I butchered a couple of songs, we decided to play name that tune with everyone else taking turns "playing" a song and the rest of us guessing the answer. That was alot of fun! After the musical portion of our night ended, we decided to play the board game SORRY by lantern light. Kelsey announced that she wanted to be the color green (which she never wants to be!) in honor of the earth! How sweet is that?! When 9:30 arrived, everyone decided that they wanted to keep the lights off and continue on as we had been doing. I think I finally turned the lights back on around 10:30 when I started demanding that everyone go to bed! LOL It really was a cool thing to try out, and the time we spent just hanging out together was very nice. When the kids woke up today, they asked if we could have Earth hour again tonight!



Next up - ROAD TRIP! That's right, it's that time of year again. We are meeting up with some familiar faces - fun times are surely in our future! In the meantime, if you would like to wish us an uneventful journey to our destination, that would be appreciated! We surely don't want a repeat of last years adventure LOL-
