May Days................

Wow! May is always such a crazy month for us! We've been so busy!

May 9th was our sweet Mackenzie's 5th birthday (only 1 day after her beloved Poppa's)
Here she is with her BFF namesake Grammy! :) We invited all of our favorite people to celebrate the day with us!
(Note to self - must buy a BIGGER house! ;) Miss Mackie enjoyed opening up her presents, which included Princess Legos: and Hello Kitty Walkie Talkies! Since we had all our family here, we celebrated both Mackie and Ryan birthdays -
my May bookend babies! :) Next up was Miss Kelsey's first ever horseback riding lesson!
She loved it! (Thanks to Grammy for winning it in a raffle and giving it to our beautiful girl :) We've also been busy with Ryan's baseball games: and Mackenzie's soccer games: Then just this past Friday May 21, was Ryan's 11th birthday! Holy Moly, how did THAT happen? It seems like just yesterday he was a tiny little chicken legged baby! (click here http://nowimamom.blogspot.com/2008/05/happy-birthday-ryan.html for pictures through the years!)
So, we went out to dinner for his favorite meal at the Japanese Hibachi restaurant, where he tried his hardest to catch that shrimp in his mouth!

then it was back home to open his presents which included -

Even though we've been so busy lately having lots of fun, I've also found myself a little sad. I think every year around Ryan's birthday I get a little "down" (no pun intended! ;) but this year was a little more so as we are at the point where he is supposed to transition into middle school, although I'm not sure that he's ready for it. We've been discussing different options with the school district and still have not decided what is the right placement for him at this time.

So as I look back, reminisce, ponder and feel somewhat confused, I remember this great quote I recently came across. I think it applies to us perfectly right about now! “Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we’re here we should dance.” ― Author Unknown :)

Happy Birthday to my fabulous May babies! I love you so much & are so proud of you both!

Happy Birthday to your May babies. I'm a May 9 baby too! I love the quote. Gotta Dance! Some days we may be the first ones on the dance floor, ready to feel really shake our booty; other days the dance may be slower--maybe we just want to sway to the music holding on to the ones we love. There is a place for both in life. Good luck with getting all the school stuff sorted out. And, remember, Ryan has been surprising you all his life. Don't think adjusting to middle school will be any different. That said, remember, middle school can be quite an adjustment for any kid!

from chicken legged baby to shrimp catching sports superstar (and rockstar!) in the blink of an eye...don't worry, middle school will be a piece of cake!
Happy Birthday, big guy!
(and to your little sis too)
