My sister and I went through 2 pregnancies together. The best thing about that, besides sharing maternity clothes, is that we now have 2 kids who are each 4 months apart in age from their cousin. And ironically enough, we both had boys together, and then girls! (although she was already 2 boys ahead of me before I even started having kids! ;)
Anyway, this weekend, Zach and Abby were staying over at Grammys house. Since Grammy lives 2 minutes away, and because Kelsey and Abby are BFF's, we spent alot of time with them. Everyone had so much fun together.
First, they came over to watch fireworks and catch fireflies. For the record, the girls were much better bug catchers than the boys! ;)
Next day we all decided to hit the beach!
The fearless five hit the waves!
They decided that body surfing would be the sport of the day!
The kids were having such a great time, and Grammy and I were enjoying a lovely conversation when all of a sudden we spot THIS walking up the beach!
I immediately started singing the "Pants on the Ground" song and had to zoom in closer for a better look! WHAT the HELL is THAT?!
Who wears boxers UNDER a bathing suit anyway?! Not to mention black socks with no shoes, on THE BEACH!? There were just so many things wrong with that getup, but we all sure got a good laugh over it. Oh man! Here's another view! LOL
If THAT wasn't bad enough, look what else was peeking out at us from the lifeguard stand!
Wow! Quite the sights we were seeing that day!
After spending hours in the water, everyone came out to dry up before heading home! (notice dude in the background, still sportin' the low riders! ;)
The kids were so excited to discover a giant ditch that someone else had dug! They made up a game to see who could stay on the edge longest without falling in! What fun! :)
The next day, we decided to hit the pool since it was sweltering hot! We enjoyed some nice family time, and are all so excited that Mackenzie can now actually stand alone in the big pool! No more baby pools for THIS family! ;)
Looking forward to many more fun days this summer, and many less "pants on the ground" sightings forever! :) Right on General Larry Platt!

So the girl cousins are BFFs. How about Ryan and his counterpart? Do they hang out? John has a girl cousin who is about a year older than he is. Makes me a little sad because they really aren't playmates. At least not yet. Funny, because my niece's conception actually gave us the impetus to have our third. She was born the day after I lost our baby. Sometimes it can be hard being pregnant at the same time as a family member. Katherine has a girl cousin who is 10 months younger, yet is it Julia who seems to be best buds with this older cousin. Guess you just never about how cousins will connect. I'm rambling--sorry. Glad to see you are having such a fun summer! Keep those pants off the ground!
Yes Chris,
Ryan and Zach are buddies, but not as close as Kelsey and Abby. They do spend alot of time playing football/baseball or video games together. My sister also has two older boys that Ryan often plays ball with too. It's hard because they live in Connecticut, so we don't get to hang out with them as often as we'd like!
