The Week from Hell..........

I was so looking forward to Halloween week.......my kids in costumes, trick or treating, my Pat Monahan show, etc.....and then, all hell broke loose.

Halloween afternoon, on the way to Ryans school parade, we got a call that my mothers brother (my godfather) had passed away. Completely unexpectedly and sudden. I will never forget the sound of my mother's scream. We are all still in complete shock. That day also, Mark's Diverticulits started flaring up again.

We took the kids treat or treating anyway and took some pictures. The next day was the NYC Pat show. I didn't really feel up to going, but Mark talked me into it. My sister came over to babysit, and I went to show her the Halloween pix of the kids and the computer blew.

So, off we went to the Pat show (Mark thought it would be a good distraction for me). 3/4 thru the show Mark started burning up and became feverish. He lasted the show, but we knew the Meet and Greet was out of the question. No Pat signing my kids picture in their "Pat Gear" that night. (see below photo, don't ask lol! We did have ALOT of fun though!)

Next day Mark goes for a CT scan because of the pain. They tell him he has a microperforation, and scheduled surgery for Dec 17. Just what we need the week before Christmas right?! Also, the surgeon tells him, if it tears completely before surgery, he will need a colostomy bag. Un-freaking-believable!

Then yesterday, I go to my Uncles wake. My aunt (his widow) falls while leaving the first "visiting hours" and breaks her freaking ankle in 3 places. She spent last night and today in the hospital. She missed the rest of the wake, last night and today. They can't do the surgery on her because of the swelling. They discharged her tonight, so she can attend the funeral tomorrow, but will be re-admitting her on Thursday to operate. I swear, I couldn't MAKE this stuff up.

So, I get home from the wake tonight, and Mark tells me that the electician has ruled out any problems with the work they did yesterday to fix our problems (which caused my computer to blow in the first place.) Thankfully, Mark's laptop is still working so I at least have some web access.

Anyway, they said it's a LIPA problem, a voltage issue from the pole to our house. Meanwhile today, the big screen tv and the dishwasher have both blown out too! What next? My house burning down?!

Then, the computer guy called to say he fixed my computer, but I've lost everything. Years of work, and photos, and videos, and music downloads, etc.... Mark picked up my computer just a little while ago, but I'm afraid to hook it up until AFTER LIPA fixes our problem. They said they will get here by Nov. 14. Can you believe this?!!!!!

Please keep my family in your prayers.....we can use all the help we can get! I promise I will update more frequently soon, I'm just not myself these days.

Oh Laura.....what a week. I'm so sorry for the loss of your GodFather and tell you Mother I am deeply sorry for her loss. I know that scream your Mother had at the sudden news, as when I lost my brother it was the same way, completely unexpected.

Tell Mark, I will be keeping him close in thoughts and prayers...I'm so sorry he is so sick. If you need help during the time of his surgery, let me know as I can take some time off [it is right before my birthday and anniversary and if I let my clients know now, I can have off and come be with you]

and for your computer.....I am crying right there with you as mine crashed a month or so ago and I too lost everything. I had transfered many photographs onto CD through the years, but not all.

Sending you a better week ahead vibes and maybe I'll see you this weekend. I will call for movie times and then we can all hangout together.

Hugs to you.....

Oh my goodness - I thought you had just disappeared because you were recovering from "Pat Hangover" - you know, waiting for your feet to touch the ground again after November 1.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Godfather, and all the resulting things that happened after--good Lord!

And I hear you about the computer crash too - I lost mine a couple of years ago (AND we have no excuse - my husband fixes computers for a living!!!)

I lost more than 200 pages of my book, probably 2-3 years of pictures, and the only copy of my father's obituary that I wrote. :( I'm still heartbroken...

I hope Mark is doing o.k. - the week before Christmas is an awful time for surgery...yuck.

((((big big hugs))))

Oh my goodness, it's crazy isn't it?!?!?

Sometimes I think that this last year has been just so incredibly NUTS that people read about it, and think...."OMG is she like some sort of attention freak or something???" So your whole, "I swear I couldn't MAKE this stuff up" Had me rolling. There is no way I could ever make up all the hell that goes on in my life!

Picutre your week from hell going on for a year, and well......Welcome to my crazy life!

Seriously, though I really feel for you, and I hope you guys get back on track soon. You will for sure be in our thoughts and prayers.

So glad to see you are back to blogging. I was having some major withdrawls not seeing you around.

Ugh, I really have to proof read my stuff before I write it, I had a paragraph about your godfather, and then I deleted it becasue of a spelling mistake, and forgot to re-write it. Blah...I need sleep. Anyways what I wanted to say was.....

I am so very sorry for your loss, and it is so hard when someone passes away so unexpectedly.

Please know that you and your mom will be in my thoughts and prayers, and I will pray that you have peace and comfort during this time.

((HUGS)) again!!
