My Dad..................

My dad was a wonderful husband, amazing father, and beloved grandfather. He spoiled his kids rotten, and his grandkids even more. He was always there when we needed him, gave his opinion whether we wanted it or not, and always offered us a shoulder to lean on. He was quick with a witty comment, and would often lovingly flip us "the bird" when we were sarcastic back to him.

He taught us how to ride bikes, play baseball, drive cars, and even how to play the slots in Atlantic City. He was a caring, giving, loving man who was adored by all who knew him.

My dad passed away last Friday afternoon and he is deeply missed. Somehow we got thru Christmas even though his absence was felt greatly.

We were able to say goodbye to him, and hear him tell us how much he loved us all. We also got to tell him how much we loved and cherished him. We were lucky in the fact that we knew his time here was ending, and we got to say and hear the things we did. Not everyone gets that chance, so for that we feel blessed.

My dad is no longer struggling to walk, or gasping trying to catch his breath. I know my dad is now at peace. I picture him in heaven, feeling great, and playing cards with all his old friends and family who have passed on before him.

My kids are now talking about how Papa is their angel, and we've already found a few pennies (surely from heaven) since he passed. I am so thankful for the many great memories we have of him. My dad sure knew how to have fun, and luckily for us, we were with him for alot of it.

Rest in Peace Daddy, we all love you and miss you like crazy.........our Sweet Papa.

What a beautiful tribute to his life...a daughter who loves him, and is obviously being a great parent to her kids just as he was to his.

Laura,
I bet our dads have run into each other up there! Your dad sounds a lot like mine...cards, sloths, flipping the bird and just acting like a kid...He sounds like a sweet man..
Know I am thinking of you and your family..
Hugs,
Rose
