Yesterday was an absolutely wonderful day! It started off with a visit from new friends.
It’s amazing to meet someone and instantly feel like old friends. Christine and John from
http://momseatofpants.blogspot.com/ came over along with the rest of their lovely family.
The kids couldn’t have hit it off better. Katherine was so sweet, playing soccer with Ryan, while Kelsey and Julia immediately bonded (they are like 2 peas in a pod!) All of the kids, including Mackenzie, took turns pushing John on the swing. What a ball they were all having, and John is just the cutest little guy ever!Meeting Christine & Bill was like catching up with friends we’ve known forever. It’s so strange how that extra chromosome just immediately makes you comfortable around those who share the same journey you do. It was like Mark and I were the veterans who were welcoming the rookies to the team! We shared some great conversations and quite a few laughs too.
Christine has been discussing on her blog how John having Down Syndrome was like being on a seesaw. So of course, I couldn’t let the opportunity pass without getting a picture of us on our seesaw with our special little men who brought us together! I’m so grateful that Christine left me a comment awhile back.(Actually the best comment ever!) Who would have thought that some random blog would have brought together our two families, who I have a feeling will be hanging out together many more times in the future! Thanks Chris, I hope you guys had as much fun as we did!
Sadly after lunch, they had to leave so they could drive home to catch the SuperBowl. But our day wasn’t over yet. We had invited my mom to come have dinner with us and watch the game here. Grammy even got to meet and hold John! Mark made a delicious Beef Stew, and Grammy brought over some yummy desserts. We didn’t think the day could get any better, and then it did. New York won the superbowl, and we hit big in a superbowl pool!
Thanks Papa, we figured you had a hand in sending us lots of pennies from Heaven!
I wish more days were as full of smiles as yesterday was! I think I’m going to work hard to make sure there are! :)

Thanks again for yesterday Laura. We had so much fun. The girls told me last night that they think we are going to be life long friends...made my heart soar. The Giants winning was a great end to the day. Of course, we didn't win our pool...we might have won a little something had Randy Moss not caught that pass for a touchdown....so glad to hear that you guys hit it big. You deserve it!
How neat! I remember when you shared her comment. :) I can only imagine how meeting Ryan put to rest so many fears and unknowns. Love you honey!
