"Will he be like other kids?"........

In the beginning, when we were first advised that Ryan would most likely be born with Down Syndrome, we were told of all the things he may never be able to do. We were so worried about what he would be like as he got older. Would he enjoy doing the things that "typical" kids do?

Well, we just got home from an amazing family vacation and before I get to the gazillion pictures, I wanted to share THIS video first!

The resort we stayed at, had many activities, including a waterpark. This waterpark had so many slides, rides, etc, that we didn't even know where to start! But Ryan did......the moment he spotted the "Flow Rider", he decided, he wanted to try it out.
Even though the line was very long, Mark agreed. I waited in the wings worrying.....thinking silently to myself, "Will he be ok riding this thing that looked like it tossed everyone around like crazy?" "Would he be able to handle being thrown off it"?

As usual, my fears were soon put to rest as this amazing boy once again proved to me! He handled this thing like a pro! He couldn't wait to get back on line to do it again! :)

Please don't let anyone EVER lead you to believe what your child may or may not be capable of as they get older. If I let all the fears I had at the start of this journey consume me, I may never have allowed Ryan to experience and ENJOY all the awesome things he does these days! :)

Pictures coming soon..............
