Our first big snowstorm this year occured the day after Christmas. I blogged about it, and even mentioned how I'm not really a fan. Well since that day (over a month ago) we've had 5(?) more snow storms! Seriously, like what the hell is going on?!
Even though we are freezing our butts off, and have been buried up to our ears in snow, we are still managing to have fun! Like when we went out to dinner for Grammy's birthday with my sister Linda and Grammy's sisters, my Aunts Jan & Pat. Wonderful company, wonderful time!
Not to mention, wonderful cake! ;)
The kids enjoyed playing out in the snow while I watched from inside the warm house, situated comfortably behind the storm door! ;)

Extreme Makeovers!
My girls and I have all been trying to grow out our bangs so we've been in that awkward In-between hair phase. I decided to bring Mackenzie in for a haircut first since she was the longest overdue! Here's her "before" picture -
Here she is being the big brave customer -
and her gorgeous "after" picture -
(notice how the snow in the background started melting and we could actually see some grass ~ sigh! it was not meant to be!)
While we were at the salon, the beautician kept mentioning to me how lovely my hair was, and how great a cut she could give me. I was long overdue too, so the following weekend, I went back. I mean- what did I have to lose except my frizzy, long dull hair?! LOL Here's my new do! and I must say, I'm feeling quite SASSY now! LOL ;)
Miss Kelsey and I went back the next day for her makeover. Because she is still in the "growing out" transition, her makeover was not quite as dramatic as mine and Mack's - but she still looks as beautiful as ever!
That night after coming home from the salon, as I walked down the stairs, I noticed the most beautiful colors showing through the windows - so I grabbed my camera and ran outside.
This is what I saw -

I thought for SURE this meant that these snowy days were behind us and only sunny days ahead. Well, OOPS, my bad! The next morning the phone rang at 5:12 AM stating that the schools would be closed. Seriously School District, thanks for the snow day, but could you perhaps wait until maybe 7:15 next time?! WHY did that call have to come BEFORE sunrise? LOL The only good thing about being jolted out of slumber at that time is that it prompted me to run downstairs, grab the camera and see what Mother Nature graced us with during the night. It was still dark out, but it was so peaceful and beautiful......

Since the snow was so deep, actually up to the fence and practically over Mackenzie's head in some areas, we couldn't even go out and play in it. So we did the next best thing! Spent the day having indoor fun, and spent the night snuggling up together and watching American Idol in bed!
More snow is predicted on the way Tuesday and Wednesday - Oh JOY, can't wait! ;)
In closing, I just have to say, that I'm totally longing for the day that my back deck starts to resemble this again-
as opposed to its current state of this!
Stay warm everyone and HURRY UP SPRING! :)
